 Mark
A. Smith
began his musical journey by playing the drums in his father's
church when he was only three years old. He later, started singing
and playing the keyboard in church as well.
Throughout his school
years, Mark was actively involved in band and choral programs, and
was taught by some of Mississippi's top music educators. Each one of
these instructors taught Mark valuable lessons that still live
within him today. By the time he was in high school, Mark was
arranging and sequencing instrumental tracks, to be used by
performers participating in talent shows in the southwest
Mississippi area. After high school, Mark entered the military and
completely surrendered his life to Christ, and in his college years
he wrote, arranged and sequenced songs for the college stage band.
This gained him statewide recognition. Mark has received numerous
awards and certificates in the area of music.
Mark taught elementary
music at New Life Christian Academy in Miami, Florida, and at
Kennedy Elementary and Higgins Middle School in Mc Comb,
Mississippi.
Mark has also served
as minister of music and as a musician at many different churches in
several states, and has played the keyboard for one of Gospel's most
respected quartets, "The Christionairs". He has written, produced,
composed, arranged and recorded artists from all over the states, as
well as preformed in many venues himself.
Mark A. Smith resides
on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with his loving wife, LaShonda Smith, and their four wonderful children.
Mark and LaShonda
Smith are established owners of their own production company,
entitled, "Family and Music Evolution". Their desire is to help
others attain their dreams of becoming Gospel artists.
Mark's true goal in
life is to reach out and minister the Gospel to as many men, women,
boys, and girls as possible, with the intention that they will
surrender their hearts to God.
Mark recorded his debut album with Danbla Records,
entitled, "Ministry", released in August 2005.
